Research Summary

Research interests are in the general area of process control, with focus on

  • Control and systems theory:
    • Nonlinear, robust and predictive control
    • Hybrid systems and control
    • Fault-detection and isolation and fault-tolerant control
    • Data driven model identification and control
  • Applications:
    • Process and plant-wide control subject to actuator/sensor failures
    • Control of transport-reaction and particulate processes
    • Modeling and control of batch processes

Profile

Dr. Mhaskar has made significant contributions in the areas of nonlinear MPC, fault-tolerant control and batch control problems with industrial applications. He currently holds the Canada Research Chair in Nonlinear and Fault-Tolerant Control.
